937. God's Covenant with Noah (Genesis 9:1-17) - January 2, 2026

Listen Later

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 2. I will then key in on verses 1-5. On yesterday's podcast I highlighted verse 7 of Proverb 1 - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. Verses 1-5 of Proverb 2 tells us how we can obtain that knowledge. It discusses the fact that we are to follow God's commandments found in the Bible. On today's podcast I will close out the short study I began on Monday's podcast. We have been discussing the man, Noah. God was not happy with mankind, and thought seriously about destroying the earth that He had made. Had it not been for Noah, He would have done that. However, Noah found grace in the sight of God - and God decided to start the entire process all over again through Noah and his three sons. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth (as God instructed Adam, now God is instructing Noah to do the same thing - with the exception that we are now allowed to eat meat (as well as vegetables).

2. God made rainbows as a symbol of the covenant God made with Noah (whenever there are rain clouds in the sky and a rainbow presents itself it is a reminder (to God) of the covenant that He made with Noah - never to send another flood.

3. God wants to be in covenant with us today by receiving Jesus as our Lord and risen Savior.

Scriptures found on today's podcast:

Proverb 2:1-5; Genesis 9:1-17

Call to Action - If you have not yet received Jesus as your Lord and Savior I invite you to repeat a simple prayer .
