95bFM: Border Radio

Sometimes i'm stumbling around in the dark , looking for new artists , it might seem all the old people are dead !  Usually this leads me to a list of new people who get me excited again. Listen in , find the ones you like on the net or Spotify and off we go again. Big Boy Crudup does a fine job of closing the show by shaming Elvis with his version of "Thats Alright Mama" right at the birth of Rock and Roll.

A few of last year's picks and top tunes, seasoned with some roots music from Bill Monroe & His Bluegrass Boys.

Some show standards, bunch of new stuff and some tunes off a couple of the end of year 'Best of' lists. Features potentially amusing ongoing battle between DJ, laptop and Serato. Disclaimer: If you could see the text machine in the studio you'd see just how much love there is for a bit of Lynyrd Skynyrd on a Sunday night in summer. Crazy.

In the wealth of our culture there is so much music. Much of it is good.......... music. So on we go listenening to my perspective of good American (mostly) music. This week Damien Jurado , Dr John Misty , Ray Charles , Red Sovine are a few of the artists..... It's good listening folks.... Next week Deputy Paul..

A Christmas treat for all our beloved listeners...... Good luck , much happiness and bloated stomachs.... wwe'll be playing tunes all through the break!

Kirsten is back in the studio! Yah live even, talking to friends and Border Radio followers. Lots of new releases, and Ani Difranco's "Revolutionary Love" which is a 2021 release although the single came out a bit earlier. Wonderful music all night. And a bit of dicussion about Robert Plant and Alison Kraus covering Lucinda Williams, it's a risky business.

Woop! back in the studio after the rahui playing just physical media after 3 months of being stuck with digital files remotely. CD's and LPs only. What joy.

Back in the studio !!!!!!!!! Woooooooo!!! Such fun , lots of feedback from our punters which i have missed in lockdown..... Great cover of "Stop dragging my Heart around" by Molly Tuttle and Nathaniel Rateliff . Jimmy Dale Gilmore and many others......
