Hunter bringing you some of their favourite tunes from the past week and a revisit of some of Aldous Harding's live performances from last year's Laneway festival. 

Lawrence Arabia is in self-solation but he's up for the Taite Music Prize and recently contributed a track to the Mansfield compilation. Hunter spoke to him on the phone today about all of that and more while istening to some of Lawrence Arabia's heartbraking favourite tracks.

Larsen & Nava are 2 of the minds behind Noa Records. Today Noa Records released 'TRASH 2' a new album from WhyFi (Larsen). They joined Hunter in studio to discuss the album, Noa Records & some musical favourites for My Morning Mixtape.

Lucy & Justin from Dick Move joined Hunter in the studio today - Dick Move are performing at the Ellen Melville Centre for bFMs Drive Island this Friday and they recently released a brand new single called Jerk. Today they picked out a few songs and had a chat about recording their album, highlights from the early days of being a band and a whole lot more for My Morning Mixtape.

Our guest for My Morning Mixtape this week is Scott from The Naenae Express. The Naenae Express will be doing a couple of shows this week - One of which is tonight at the Auckland Town hall for Outsider Sounds. The other is with Te Huhu this weekend at The Wine Cellar. Today Scott joins me in the studio to share some favourite songs and have a chat about them.

Dropkicks have been quietly dropping singles on Soundcoud for the past couple of years. They've since transitioned to mainstream platforms with great success. Today they joined Hunter in the studio to have a chat about their journey, what it's like working with a cousin & what they have planned for 2020.

This week we listened back to some songs from Cindy who performed at Drive Island back in 2018. We also had a chat to Dropkicks for My Morning Mixtape & we played a ton of songs to get us in the mood for upcoming great gigs.

We had Baby Zionov up in the studio. She’s one of many artists set to appear at Loud & Proud: A Queer Music Festival which is happening at the Audio Foundation this weekend. She also released an incredible new single a couple of weeks ago that is currently sitting at number 1 on the 95bFM top 10. Today she joins me for My Morning Mixtape where we discuss her new single, Loud & Proud and the state of the local music scene when it comes to marginalised creatives.

Simon Grigg joined Hunter in the studio today. Simon is a music businessman, writer, broadcaster, publisher, and archivist. Simon has hosted shows here at bFM in the past and he is the founder of New Zealand record label Propeller Records which has contributed many albums integral to the New Zealand's musical history, including the reissue of the iconic punk collection, AK79 which has just been reissued to celebrate the 40 year anniversary of it’s initial release. He chose 3 songs from that release and gave us a rundown of it's importance.
