95bFM: The Swap Meet

Salute Calvin Yarborough for Yarborough and People! K&J bring you tonight's show a galaxy worth of soul stars for Matariki.

All new, good for you! @omarlyefookMBE, @LittleSimz, @Ladi6, Mokomokai and Hongi Slicker, Caixa Cubo, @froiddub, @surprise_chef, SR Mpofu, @ideeyah, Kenny Sterling,

It's the old Boil Up crew back together in the bFM studio with Apera and Dusty Crates joining Kirk and Jubt for a throwdown of some current bits and funky faves.

Aotearoa all day. This week we have a couple of spesh guests, namely Steve Shaw of the mighty Audioculture, ready to share some deep knowledge and grooves for NuZillund's vinyl heyday; and Gareth Farry passes thru to talk about the label Sugarlicks, and his artists: Ekadek, Solephonic, One Million Dollars, Mesh, Murk108 and many more. K&J at the controls!

The don Campbell brings three hours of beautiful tunes with classic 2-step soul, contemporary bits, Latin, Jazz, Nu Soul, and of course Boogie. Currently rejigging his record wants list in the lead up to a Japan jaunt, his record purchasing has recently got the handbrake treatment, so he's been digging deep in his extensive archives to bring you the true notes.

Happy Birthday the great Norman Whitfield, we spin a few of his productions, and also May marks 50 years since the release of Curtis Mayfield's landmark "There's No Place Like America Today", and also Emilio Santiago's self titled album, and the "Funk Factory" LP. Brought to you by K & J.

The Tairāwhiti funk shed is back in operation with Campbell taking over dancefloor duties on the Swap Meet this afternoon: Dig this!

Kirk's "lost" April show. Some 1975 & 1985 jams celebrating 40 & 50 years since their release, lots of older favourites, some not so old tunes & some new bits & pieces in there too. Starting slower, picking up the tempo as the show went along. Turn it up to enjoy.

This week we are all about Chaka!
