What differentiates teaching and training?

It's no secret that teaching and training are important for the development of new and current employees, but which is the correct path? I'm sure you imagine teaching as something you did in school. You sat and listened to a lecture on a particular subject. Training, on the other hand, probably occurred when you first started a new job and watched videos on your company or learned procedures on how to do your job. How do these relate to your current situation? It's important to have your understanding of each so that you can gain insight yourself as well as pass along information to your coworkers. This way, your company as a whole continues to grow and improve to become even better.
