A guy in Ohio who was driving on a suspended license got pulled over last week . . . and tried to get out of it by calling 911 and reporting a fake SHOOTING at a nearby Walmart. His plan was to make the cops respond to the shooting instead, but it didn't work. 911 traced his call, and he got arrested.

RICHARD BRANSON made his first space flight yesterday. He and a five-man crew went 53 miles above the Earth and achieved weightlessness for about three to four minutes. At 71, he's the second-oldest man in space, after JOHN GLENN . . . who went up in 1998 at the age of 77.
