A guy in France tried to kill a fly with one of those racquet-style, electric flyswatters. And he didn't realize a gas can nearby had been leaking. So when it zapped, it caused an explosion that destroyed part of his house. Luckily he survived.

A woman in Florida tried to hire a hitman recently to kill her husband's mistress. And she wanted the job done before the 26th of this month, because that's her birthday, and this was a birthday gift to herself. But the hitman turned out to be an undercover cop, and she was arrested on two felony charges.
