This episode is a special extended edition of the Pride in Diversity Show to coincide with the Out in the Open Festival 2020.
Guest number 1 - (first hour) - Deb who uses the pronouns she/her is passionate about rural communities and social justice, a physiotherapist with 30 years experience in health care she has lived in Echuca since 1992.
Deb loves nothing more than using her knowledge and skills to support growth, and healing; she currently manages a team of Physiotherapists and Allied Health Assistants in a public health setting.
She has three amazing children, two delightful grandbabies and a bevy of adored nieces and nephews. Her sister Michelle is her greatest ally.
Despite the challenges 2020 has thrown us all, she has this year qualified as a yoga teacher, fallen in love, been part of the OITO organising Committee and taken on a GV Pride Committee role.
Deb loves yoga, camping, travelling and learning new skills, she shares her home with her son Lachlan and two ridiculously indulged Tibetan spaniels. Although she has not a shred of talent and is completely tone deaf Deb loves nothing more than a crafternoon or singalong with friends.
Guest number 2 - (second hour)- My name is El, I use she/her pronouns, and I am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. I work as a registered nurse and I volunteer for many LGBTQIA+ groups, most notably I am the Logistics person for LINE Wangaratta. I am a part of multiple local working and advisory groups for LGBTQIA+ projects as well to help be a voice in the community.
Guest number 3 - (for third hour) - Allison (they/them) is a bi+ non-binary person who is passionate about social justice and being an agitator. Allison is also passionate about LGBTQIA+ rights, learning, gardening and music. A natural creator, they play multiple musical instruments, paint, photograph and love growing plants in their garden... the next challenge? Keeping chickens!
