One FM breakfast announcer Plemo interviews Jamie Mackenzie from Red Flag leadership about their upcoming emergency preparation workshops in Mooroopna as part of the Greater Shepparton City Council's Resilience in Recovery program.
Red Flag Community Emergency Scenario and Local Exercise is an exercise/program designed to help the community, local emergency service responders become leaders – so they can innovate and understand the risks, so they can come together to help each other and share their knowledge and learn what they need to know and do as a community.
The interactive exercise follows a community strengths-based approach designed to reduce the reliance on individuals, single groups, agencies, and government by drawing upon current and potential local people and resources. All the skills which may be required if the community becomes isolated, cut-off from systems and services and/or overwhelmed are already in your community.
