99. Building a Brand and Business on Your Own Terms with Jasmin Murphy
Learn how to modify social media and promote your services in a way that feels good. Today's guest knew there was a need for it – that so many people didn't feel like they could fit into the "influencer" mold and that they needed someone to show them how to do social media in a way that felt good for them.
"I realized that if I had that need and if that was something that helped me, that there were hundreds, if not thousands of other people that needed the same thing."
Jasmin Murphy is a woman who has spent her entire life learning to love herself. On her own journey to lose over 200lbs naturally, she battled the idea of being body positive. But, through this journey, she found that when you learn to love yourself from the inside out, and has become the premier Body Positive Health and Wellness Coach.
In 2017 Jasmin took the next step in her journey and became a certified Health and Wellness coach so that she could help other women find their way back into loving themselves while reaching their health and wellness goals without shame or the guilt of diet culture. But she didn’t stop there. Jasmin has since become a certified group exercise instructor, and received certifications in Self-control psychology and weight loss, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gut Health Practitioner, and nutritional diet planning just to name a few.
After an almost fatal health crisis in 2018, Jasmin made the decision to undergo Duodenal Switch Bariatric Surgery. In August 2020 she successfully had surgery and had to date released 208lbs. Since she had undergone bariatric surgery, Jasmin has become passionate about dispelling the myths that surround weight loss surgery and shows how you can make the decision to have weight loss surgery from a place of self-love and healing.
Jasmin has helped over 250,000 women on their journeys to reclaim their health and wellness between her public platforms and private membership community. Her goal is to create the world's premier space for size-inclusive health and wellness teaching women how to create their own version of strong that feels good to them.
During this time Jasmin went from having zero social media presence, being homeless, and struggling to make ends meet to building a devoted community of over 150K, over 20 Million video views, a 6 figure membership program, and non-stop media coverage with no ad spend, engagement pods, or bought followers. She could do this by learning how to efficiently leverage social media and her story to give people what they were looking for that kept them invested in her brand and, more importantly, themselves. Now she teaches other entrepreneurs to do the same.
