Phone calls are becoming increasingly rare, and combine that with the knowledge that we know that 70% of people, particularly in the B2B sector, are making decisions before they make any contact with the company and you can see how important it is that if the phone does ring is answered really really well. 
The mindset shift has to be that when the phone rings it is someone ready to buy, not someone making a general enquiry. And based on the recognition that we only have around 9 seconds to make a first impression you can see just how important it is to get that answering done really really well.
