Brawley - President Above 500 Inc and Markita Heard - President of The Empower Kits - We discussed how the 2 organizations have joined forces. Above 500 offers students at risk access to positive mentorship through various platforms and their "Ignite the Culture" events and The Empower Kits are made up of school supplies that include a QR code that leads to Empower City where students get resources that include mental health support.

Chief Wayne Jones and Robyn Mack - Director of Development with Gift of Life - We discussed the duties of newly appointed MBPD Chief Jones and what it means being the 1st black police chief. Also discussed was their upcoming Gift of Life bona marroe registry event on Aug. 22nd.

Anthony Durden - President - We discussed hoe S.H.E.A.R Inc. provides community services, education and mentorships to the youth. Also discussed was the Black Financial Literacy Expo on 8/26

Executive Director - Kenfra Bullock - Major - Discussed the history of the OBC and the month long activities that lead up to the Battle of the Bands and the big football game between Jackson State University and Florida A&M University

Principals Silvia Tarafa and Pierre R. Edourd - We discussed how the all boys and all girls schools how these academies are part of the Dade County Public Schools system, they are open to middle and high school students and the curriculum that they offer.  STEM
