During “finding a job”, we need to deal with waiting for results - at two occasions: you have sent your résumé and you are waiting for a response if you are considered for an interview, or you had an interview and you want to know the outcome of it. But why does it take so long?

I had a change recently to speak to 16-year-old pupils about finding a job. One of the pupils kindly interrupted me. “But what should I write in my résumé if I have no job experience?”. The room suddenly went quiet. Luckily, we had enough time left to find the answer that I want to share with you as well.

When you want or need a new job, there are many hurdles to overcome. Depending on where you are in the process, thinking about yourself, applying, and interviewing, what do you think is the most critical piece in finding a job?

Would you hire that person into your team if you doubt that you can trust? I don't think so. No trust - no job, as hard as it is.

And the quest for trust already starts with the résumé. Choosing the right words will plant the seeds of trust and your résumé readers are not doubting your trustworthiness.
