9to5 Entertainment System: Episode 3 – Get in Touch With Your Sensitive Side
We get in touch with our artistic side as our most recent podcast discusses the state of music and art (comic book art mind you but let’s not split hairs here) and how it’s consumed in Europe and North America. I’m not kidding, shit gets deep up in this bitch people.
Hopefully this recording and the upcoming Episode 4 will be the last of our ongoing technical woes (that annoying echo is almost omnipresent in this recording) as we now have yet another mic setup that seems to be the most promising to date. We’ll be giving it a live run tonight when we record Episode 2 of Go Plug Yourself. Fingers crossed, I think I lost the receipt on this latest mic.
Also, my “morning voice” in those intros and outros is so much smoother and like a public radio broadcaster than my “podcast voice”. I sound like I should be talking about these really delicious cookies I had one time in the Adirondacks.
This one is a little shorter than usual (a little under 40 minutes) but we run the usual gamut of comic books, video games and hockey talk.
Intro: Jon really wants some pasta sauce; we jump in directly where we left on last time talking about Justice which branches nicely into Scott talking about the state of shitty music in Europe, nay, the WORLD.
5:30: We stick to music talk (fun!) and about how we currently digest and consume music.
9:10: Diablo III is coming out; Scott might need to buy a new computer.
10:55: We cross music news with wrestling news and discuss MVP’s new “hit” single: Holla to the World. Notice how we don’t play this song for you, because we care about you as a listener.
14:30: Scott discusses the latest Hell in the Cell.
17:45: SHANABANS!! We talk bans and the hit on Campoli by Malone. Of course it’s a good thing Campoli didn’t get hurt. Lot of good that did us. In case you don’t doubt that Yzerman and Shanahan aren’t buddies: here’s a photo of them dressed as Batman and Robin.
26:50: Scott discusses French comic Les Chroniques de Légion and we discuss the vastly superior European format of comic book production “bédé”.
