9to5 Entertainment System Episode 6: Bzzzorrt!

Jon finally talks about Skyrim! Glory day! We make fun of Scott’s technical impairedness once again (the fact that he doesn’t play video games seemingly ever, really, you haven’t played Fallout 2? Also he mutes his microphone for a little bit at the beginning of the show like a big idiot, I left it in this time though, so he feels shame. Otherwise he’ll never learn). See what happens when Scott doesn’t send me an episode image? I halfass it pretty hard.

We don’t actually talk that much about Skyrim honestly. We reminisce a lot about Final Fantasy 6,7,8 and Spirits Within. Seriously, it’s about 75% of the podcast.

I know I’ve said this before, but this is, once again, our best podcast. If you’re some sort of a terrible goblin man who doesn’t know about the plot of Final Fantasy 7, fair warning: we spoil some shit.

Other stuff we get into:

  • Gaming on the Playstation (the original) and fond memories of Final Fantasy 7
  • Scott will stop being friends with you for no reason
  • We get into a brief religious debate, it sort of surprises me this is the first time this has happened.
  • We talk a little Fallout 2 and compare it to the more modern openworld role playing games (ie: Skyrim)
  • We start shitting on Final Fantasy 8, I cry a little. It takes a little while for us to try to find this event in our history, we apparently only measure time in ex-girlfriends.
  • This moves nicely into shitting on Final Fantasy: Spirits Within.
  • We then get into Final Fantasy 6 and Jon is WRONG. Just kidding, he’s totally right:
    • According to the Final Fantasy Wiki, here are the two items Scott and Jon have a disagreement about:
      • Master’s Scroll (Offering): Allows the user to attack four times in a row.
      • Genji Glove: Allows user to equip two weapons at once.
      • We also shit on Widening Gyre. Like fish in a barrel.
      • Then we fondly remember the films of Kevin Smith in compensation.
      • We talk about watching movies high as fuck.

        • It’s a great episode for real-real.
