A Bar-Mitzvah For Today

Listen Later

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Jesus as a twelve-year-old boy went through what was called a bar-mitzvah, a term which means “son of the law.” Every Jewish boy went through a process in which his father made sure that he knew the wisdom of God on his journey to manhood. After this rite of passage, a twelve year old boy was no longer considered a boy but a man. He was thought of as a man and was expected to behave as a man. That’s why Jesus at age twelve was in the Temple engaging in conversation with the religious and political leaders of His day. I’ve written The Boy To Man Book as the modern equivalent of a bar mitzvah for fathers of twelve year old boys to read with their sons. It just might make a dandy Father’s Day gift for a father you know who has a young son. Order a copy of the Boy To Man Book today at afastore.net. That’s afastore.net.
