Happy Monday!
Pastor Jeff is back, and this is week 6 of our Golden Rule Series. This week, we will learn about the incredible kindness Jesus Christ showed us.
Romans 3:23-24 23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. 24 Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
Happy Valentine's Day! Today is shout-out day, and Mrs. Tobi will share how Zacchaeus showed kindness to others.
Luke 19:8 8 But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount."Today, we learn the parable of the unmerciful servant with Mrs. Tobi. This is not a story that shows how to be kind but warns us to watch how we treat others.
Matthew 18:32-33 32 "Then the master called the servant in. 'You wicked servant,' he said, 'I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?'This week, we are exploring kindness in our Golden Rule series, learning with Mrs. Tobi about a widow who showed kindness to Elijah.
1 Kings 17:13-14 13 And Elijah said to her, "Do not fear; go and do as you have said. But first make me a little cake of it and bring it to me, and afterward make something for yourself and your son. 14 For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, 'The jar of flour shall not be spent, and the jug of oil shall not be empty, until the day that the Lord sends rain upon the earth.'"Today, we learn with Mrs. Tobi a story of kindness from the Bible, and it is significant because it takes place during Jesus' arrest.
Luke 22:49-51 49 And when those who were around him saw what would follow, they said, "Lord, shall we strike with the sword?" 50 And one of them struck the servant[a] of the high priest and cut off his right ear. 51 But Jesus said, "No more of this!" And he touched his ear and healed him.Happy Monday! Please join Mrs. Tobi for week 5 of our Golden Rule series. This week is all about kindness! Today's verses come from a story that Jesus taught about kindness: The Good Samaritan.
Luke 10:36-37 36 Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?" 37 He said, "The one who showed him mercy." And Jesus said to him, "You go, and do likewise."Today is shoutout day! Join us as we learn the story of Ruth and Naomi with Mrs. Tobi. This Bible story contains love, kindness, hope, and respect.
Ruth 1:16-17 16 But Ruth replied: Don't plead with me to abandon you or to return and not follow you. For wherever you go, I will go, and wherever you live, I will live; your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. 17 Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord punish me, and do so severely, if anything but death separates you and me.In our Golden Rule series, we will learn with Mrs. Tobi about the parable of the prodigal son, where we see love, respect, forgiveness, and more.
Luke 15:20-21 20 So he got up and went to his father. But while the son was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion. He ran, threw his arms around his neck, and kissed him. 21 The son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight. I'm no longer worthy to be called your son.'Today's story shows us another example of how we obey earthly authorities while honoring God first and foremost. We will learn about Nehemiah with Mrs. Tobi.
Nehemiah 2:4-5 4 Then the king asked me, "What is your request?" So I prayed to the God of the heavens 5 and answered the king, "If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor with you, send me to Judah and to the city where my ancestors are buried,[a] so that I may rebuild it."Please join Mrs. Tobi today as she helps us understand what we do if authority goes against what God says. This can be seen in the story of Daniel in the Lion's Den.
Daniel 6:10 10 When Daniel learned that the document had been signed, he went into his house. The windows in its upstairs room opened toward Jerusalem, and three times a day he got down on his knees, prayed, and gave thanks to his God, just as he had done before. From the publisher's feed
