Whenever I think of my ideal clients, I reach a rather annoying fork in the road. As you can imagine, this doesn’t make for easy marketing of my own business!
I work with Quiet Experts and Extraordinary Entrepreneurs. While they’re very different in outward personality and business models, they often share similar challenges with marketing. Many appear extraverted but are actually ‘introverts in hiding’—reluctant to seem pushy, position themselves as the expert, or appear in your timeline too often.
No matter what fads come and go, one challenge remains: people need to build ‘know, like, and trust’ before buying, especially with ‘high ticket’ offers. This is crucial for experts, authors, speakers, and high-level entrepreneurs who may seem out of reach or even intimidating.
Digital products and services can help build that trust over time. With a steady flow of leads, this approach positions you as an expert and builds a pipeline of future customers who move through your funnel, some reaching the top almost effortlessly. It’s also supportive for introverts who may shudder at the thought of big launches or intense events like ‘5-Day Challenges.’
I've developed a 5-Day Intensive Masterclass called 'Get It Done: From Idea To Launch' which I just tested on two new clients to get their funnels DONE and they loved it.
One of my Quiet Experts who experienced the Masterclass in just ONE DAY, includes Dr. Jane P. Lewis, a Hawaiian Huna and healing expert (outside Hawaii!). She helps female leaders find peace, confidence, and resilience and they love her! I went down to her house to map out her entire funnel for her Secret Art of Huna brand.
Or Nick Winter, a global cement expert who diagnoses structural issues from chunks sent to him to examine. I never thought I'd be working with someone to 'make cement sexy'!
My ‘Quiet Expert’ clients are incredibly diverse—masters of specialties many people haven’t even heard of: piloting superyachts, developing anti-cataract eye drops, growing wheatgrass hydroponically. One even teaches shirt ironing on YouTube!
The other type of client tends to be highly accomplished and well-known but with minimal personal branding or social media presence. For instance, Dodge Woodall, an events expert with his own 30,000+ attendee festival, Bournemouth 7s, had taken a year off social media before we started working together in April 2020. Now, just four short years later, he’s enjoying over 100 million social media views with his ‘Eventful Lives’ podcast.
Each group faces distinct challenges, though they sometimes overlap. Some clients lack a clear marketing funnel or a way to sell online, feeling frustrated that their back-end offers aren’t moving. Others are doing all the things—chasing trends, posting content—yet still not generating leads or sales.
Today, I want to address an issue I see with my Quiet Experts. If you’re reading this and it resonates, maybe this is for you.
Ever feel like you’re putting in the work—creating content, showing up online—yet it feels like you’re just shouting into the void? This is a common struggle, especially for quieter, more introverted experts.
Here’s why it happens: the message doesn’t quite connect on an emotional level. In today’s world, people have endless options, and they’re drawn to content that feels real, relatable, and even a little vulnerable—not just informative.
But here’s the catch: many of us hesitate to show our authentic selves, holding back, worried it’s “too much,” “too personal,” or not “professional” enough. Sound familiar?
What I’ve found is that when you tap into what genuinely excites or challenges you, and bring that into your content, everything shifts. When you speak openly about real experiences or struggles, you’re more likely to spark a connection—and that connection is the bridge from invisibility to engagement.
So, if you’re feeling invisible, it might be time to shift focus a bit. Start by sharing pieces of your journey, your “why,” or what lights you up about your work. Don’t be afraid to let your personality shine. You may be surprised by how many people resonate with your story, your voice.
Some of my most impactful posts that get the most attention are the ones where I talk about big events in my life.
Have you noticed a difference when you share more authentically? I certainly have.
