A Better World Radio has been taking time to educate its audience about the electoral process in the U.S. In this light, Mitchell has interviewed Justice Party Presidential candidate, the former, two-term Mayor of Salt Lake City, Rocky Anderson, Green Party Presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein, former Democratic Presidential candidate, Rep. Dennis Kucinich and former Independent Presidential candidate Ralph Nader.
In each case, none of these candidates have ever appeared in a nationally-televised Presidential debate. The question of course, is why? Each is nationally-known to at least a not insignificant number of the American population, but perhaps more importantly, they have each run for the highest office yet only candidates of the two main parties, Democrat and Republican, participate in the debates.
Due to this obvious discrepancy, or rather tragedy in the Democratic process, this evening’s s guest is author of the book No Debate:How the Republican and Democratic Parties Secretly Control the Presidential Debates, George Farah (Seven Stories Press),
George is the Executive Director and founder of Open Debates, and is an attorney at Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll.
His articles have been published in The Boston Globe, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Washington Post, The Denver Post, and other publications. He has appeared on dozens of television programs, including “Nightline,” “NOW with Bill Moyers,” “20/20,” “CBS Evening News with Dan Rather,” “NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw,” “CNN Lou Dobbs Tonight,” and “Countdown with Keith Olbermann.”
