Norwegian Wood is a novel by Haruki Murakami, first published in 1987 and later translated into English as well as several other languages. It is one of the most acclaimed and popular novels in this age, as Haruki Murakami is probably the most famous Asian author in the world for the last two decades. The opening chapter sets the perfect tone to go deep into the exploration of nostalgia, of loss, and of the story of intimacy from the past days. The story is told from Watanabe's point of view, and it is a special experience to read and retold the story from the perspective of a woman.

In the 1st installation of APoemToRead series as part of A Bit Of This and A Bit of That podcast, I read Love After Love. Love After Love is a poem by the Saint-Lucian poet Derek Walcott, published in his Collected Poems along with his other works in 1986.

I choose this poem to be the 1st I read in this series as it speaks about self love and acceptance, something I wish for myself and for everyone.
