●Of all the different metaphors used to describe the Church.... we focus on the Church being the Body of Christ to explain what a cell based Church means.
●Human cells are the foundational structure of the human body. (trillions of them)
●They are the basic functional unit of life
●Cells combine to form tissues > tissues form organs > organs form systems & system constitute a living human being.
NB: So just as a human body is one structure made up of trillions of cells, the church is also one "Body" made up of many small groups.
●So a small gathering of 3 - 10 people is a called a "cell group" where the life of the body happens.
●When we gather in the weekend, that is the whole Body coming together.
●But the Body that comes together on Saturdays, is made up of many cells... THAT, keep the Body alive in different places.
