Being a good person can sometimes become your kryptonite.
There is nothing wrong with helping others, showing compassion, being generous, or wanting to make someone’s life a little easier. The danger begins when helping everyone else becomes a way of forgetting yourself.

PAC — A Tribute to “The Man That Gravity Forgot”

The wrestling world has lost one of its most extraordinary performers.

Benjamin Satterley, known around the world as PAC, and to WWE fans as Adrian Neville and Neville, has passed away at the age of 40. His death marks the sudden end of a remarkable professional wrestling career that began in 2004 andtook him from the British independent scene to some of the biggest wrestling promotions in the world. PAC was never simply another high-flyer. He possessed a rare combination of speed, athleticism, precision, aggression and technical wrestling ability. His spectacularaerial offense earned him the unforgettable WWE nickname “The Man That Gravity Forgot,” but that description only captured one part of what made him special.

He could fly from the top rope with astonishing speed, but he could also slowa match down, target an opponent methodically and demonstrate tremendous technical skill. His wrestling style evolved throughout his career, allowing him to compete successfully in different countries, different promotions andagainst vastly different opponents.

The Newcastle-born trailblazer

Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his professional wrestling career in 2004. He built his reputation on the British independent circuit beforebecoming an international performer, appearing for promotions including WWE, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre and eventually All Elite Wrestling. For many fans, his rise represented something important about British wrestling: extraordinary talent could emerge from outside the traditional American wrestlingsystem and eventually reach the largest stages in the industry.

WWE and Neville

Satterley joined WWE in 2012 and initially competed as Adrian Neville. His time in NXT established him as one of the division's standout performers.

He became NXT Champion, demonstrating that his athletic style could work not only in spectacular highlight-reel moments but also in long, emotionally driven championship matches. He eventually moved to WWE's main roster and became a major figure in the cruiserweight division.

As Neville, he captured the WWE Cruiserweight Championship twice, adding championship credentials to a career that had already established him asone of wrestling's most exciting performers. T

PAC returns

After leaving WWE in 2018, Satterley returned to the wrestling world as PAC.

In 2019, he became one of the early major signings of All Elite Wrestling, where he would spend the rest of his career. He became the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion, a championship that was later renamed the AEW International Championship, and he also captured the AEW World TriosChampionship. P

PAC's AEW character was darker, more aggressive and more dangerous. The name “The Bastard” became synonymous with a wrestler who could switch instantly from calculated technical wrestling to explosive violence.

His matches frequently had an unmistakable intensity. There was urgency in everything PAC did. Every kick, every dive, every counter and every finishing sequence felt as though it could change the entire direction of a match.

A career built on innovation

What made PAC particularly memorable was his ability to make athleticismlook natural.

His movements were extraordinarily fast, but they were rarely performed simply for spectacle. His aerial attacks, counters and combinations were integratedinto his storytelling. He could make an opponent appear to have him beaten and then suddenly turn the match around with a breathtaking counter.

That ability helped him become an inspiration to a generation of wrestlerswho grew up watching the independent wrestling boom and performers such as PAC demonstrate what was possible inside a wrestling ring.

His final match

Perhaps the most heartbreaking part of the news is how recently PAC was still performing.

He competed at AEW's All Out event shortly before his death, challengingAndrade El Ídolo for the AEW National Championship. Andrade won the match, meaning PAC's final professional wrestling appearance came while he was still performing at the highest level of the industry. T

There is something profoundly difficult about knowing that a wrestler who hadspent more than two decades dedicating himself to professional wrestling had just stepped into the ring for what would unknowingly become his final match.

Remembering Ben

Behind PAC was Benjamin Satterley.

Tributes from fellow wrestlers have emphasized not only his wrestling ability but alsohis character away from the ring. Tony Khan described him as a beloved husband and friend and praised his wrestling knowledge, athleticism, professionalism, consistency and dedication. Fans knew PAC as the intense competitor.

They knew the man who seemed to defy gravity.

PAC's career cannot be reduced to championships.

And above all, he was unmistakably PAC.
