Although we acknowledge as Christians that we are called to be followers of Christ, many of us have given little or no thought to who we are in relation to this calling. As a result, many believers hold a misguided perception of their identity in relation to their Christian calling. This is evident in how the average Christian of today places little value on the privilege of being exposed to valuable truths, which prescribe a peculiar kind of life. Sadly, Christianity has been reduced to a means for fulfilling personal agenda.
In this message titled "A Chosen Generation," Pastor Jeffrey Walter discusses how Christians should perceive themselves in light of their calling, offering insight into what it means to be the ‘Chosen’ of God. He underscores the importance of having the right perception and reverence for this divine calling, highlighting how these shape a believer’s identity, sense of purpose, perspective on life’s challenges and approach to the things of God. He concludes by urging believers not to take lightly the privilege of their divine calling, but to rejoice even in the face of afflictions or challenges, recognizing them as part of their preparation for the ultimate manifestation of the glory of their calling.
This message will deepen your appreciation of your calling as a Christian and inspire you to wholeheartedly pursue it, so that the glory of the One who has called you His ‘Chosen’ shall be fully revealed in your life.
Key Scripture: 1 Peter 2:9 KJV
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
Other Scriptures: 1 Peter 2:10; Acts 5:41; Romans 8:29-30; Hebrew 11:15-16 [All scriptures in KJV]
