Story Transcript:

Sl: Sneg je prekrival Blejsko jezero z belo odejo.
En: Snow covered Blejsko jezero with a white blanket.

Sl: Matej in Tina sta sedela na avtobusu, ki ju je vozil proti domu.
En: Matej and Tina were sitting on the bus that was taking them home.

Sl: Poletje je minilo od njunega zadnjega srečanja, ko sta se sporekla glede družinske tradicije.
En: The summer had passed since their last meeting when they had argued about family tradition.

Sl: Zdaj, v zimskem času, sta se vračala, da bi z družino praznovala božič.
En: Now, in the wintertime, they were returning to celebrate Christmas with their family.

Sl: Ko je njun dom prišel v pogled, je Tina prvič prekinila tišino na poti.
En: When their home came into view, Tina broke the silence on the journey for the first time.

Sl: "Matej, veselim se tega božiča. Mislim, da bi lahko dodali nekaj novega k naši tradiciji."
En: "Matej, I'm looking forward to this Christmas. I think we could add something new to our tradition."

Sl: Mateju ni bila všeč ta ideja.
En: The idea did not appeal to Matej.

Sl: Bil je starejši brat in vedno je močno verjel v ohranjanje tradicij.
En: He was the older brother and always strongly believed in preserving traditions.

Sl: "Tina, božič ima svoje čarobne trenutke zaradi vseh tistih stvari, ki jih počnemo že leta. Ne moremo kar tako spremeniti vsega."
En: "Tina, Christmas has its magical moments because of all those things we've been doing for years. We can't just change everything like that."

Sl: Tinin obraz je rahlo potemnel, vendar ni odnehala.
En: Tina's face darkened slightly, but she didn't give up.

Sl: Ko sta prispela, je bila hiša že polna božičnih lučk, in vonj po cimetu je polnil zrak.
En: When they arrived, the house was already full of Christmas lights, and the scent of cinnamon filled the air.

Sl: Starša sta ju toplo pozdravila, in zdelo se je, da bodo njuni prepiri zlahka pozabljeni.
En: Their parents warmly greeted them, and it seemed their quarrels would be easily forgotten.

Sl: Vendar se je napetost vrnila, ko je Tina začela predlog za nov božični ples.
En: However, the tension returned when Tina began to propose a new Christmas dance.

Sl: Matej je bil skeptičen, a preden bi kaj rekel, je Tina pristopila k njemu z veliko knjigo.
En: Matej was skeptical, but before he could say anything, Tina approached him with a large book.

Sl: "To je za tebe," je rekla.
En: "This is for you," she said.

Sl: Bil je album fotografij, poln spominov na pretekle božične praznike.
En: It was a photo album full of memories from past Christmases.

Sl: "Poglej, kako čudovito smo se imeli, ko smo bili skupaj. Ni pomembno, kaj počnemo, dokler smo skupaj."
En: "Look how wonderful we were together. It doesn't matter what we do as long as we're together."

Sl: Matej je prelistal strani in videl slike svojih staršev, sebe in Tine, smehljajočih se pri postavljanju božičnega drevesa in pečenju piškotov.
En: Matej flipped through the pages and saw pictures of his parents, himself, and Tina, smiling as they set up the Christmas tree and baked cookies.

Sl: Čutil je, kako se mu trdota v srcu topi.
En: He felt the hardness in his heart melting.

Sl: "Morda imaš prav, Tina. Pomembno je biti skupaj."
En: "Maybe you're right, Tina. It's important to be together."

Sl: Zvečer so sedli za bogato obložen mizo.
En: In the evening, they sat down at a richly laid table.

Sl: Matej je dvignil kozarec in nazdravil.
En: Matej raised his glass and made a toast.

Sl: "Hvala, Tina, ker si me spomnila, kako pomembni smo drug drugemu.
En: "Thank you, Tina, for reminding me how important we are to each other.

Sl: Predlagam, da letos poskusimo nekaj novega. Pa vendar še vedno držimo naše tradicije."
En: I propose we try something new this year, but we'll still hold on to our traditions."

Sl: Družina se je strinjala in novi ples je postal del njihovega božičnega večera.
En: The family agreed, and the new dance became part of their Christmas evening.

Sl: Ko je noč napredovala, sta se Matej in Tina skupaj smejala in pogovarjala, oba polna toplote in razumevanja.
En: As the night went on, Matej and Tina laughed and talked together, both full of warmth and understanding.

Sl: Sneg je še naprej nežno padal na jezero, ki je žarelo v refleksiji božičnih luči.
En: The snow continued to gently fall on the lake, which glowed with the reflection of the Christmas lights.

Sl: Skupaj sta odkrila, da je prava čarobnost božiča ljubezen in družina, ne pa popolnost tradicij.
