A Christmas thought

Listen Later

A Christmas thought

Trimmed the tree, strung the lights

Played the old familiar Christmas songs

My mind and me, thought of passed nights

All of us harmonizing Mitch Miller sing-alongs

Dreaming of the white, my finances in the red

Worries like the lawn buried down below

Special family nights, sharing good cheer instead

Hugs, love and the special drinks would flow

Presents and smiles, little children now grown

Pictures of “their kids” playing in the snow

I’ve travelled miles, rekindling joys I’ve known

Through it all, there’s just one thing I know

Every present out there, every Christmas cookie and cake

Every party, free buffet and *gasp* even an open bar

No matter I just don’t care, every last bit of it you can

take

Just leave me the wonderful memory of all that you are

Merry Christmas Everyone!
