So I was thinking about the Republican senators willing to vote to acquit the former president and a debate question to those republicans that will run for president in 2024 or really any election.  "How can Americans ever trust that you will defend the country from foreign enemies but most importantly domestic enemies? You voted for the acquittal of a president that failed that one duty when a domestic mob of his supporters fought police, kill an officer, and was looking for the VP and senior leadership to kill."

How would they answer that question in a debate?
