Welcome to the fifth episode of conversations with Harriet. In this episode we have a conversation about perfectionism. We discuss why it can be destructive to your mental wellbeing and other areas of your life, and how to move away from it.

Perfectionism is a problem because it doesn't exist.
1) There is not one set agreed highest standard
2) Mistakes/failures are part of life

and so.. aiming for something that is completely unattainable will only set you up to fail AND make you miserable.

Here's how to fix that:
1) Truly accept the truth about perfectionism. Remember, perfectionism isn't the same as having high standards.

2) Let 70% be the new perfect - aka give yourself space to fail, and be cool with that.

3) Appreciate that mistakes and failures are your ticket to growth. Trust me.

4) Practice gratitude and celebrate the small wins.
