“The most difficult part is coming to terms with the fact that I live in a country that wants to exterminate my people,” that is Sabreen Amro is who is a first generation Palestinian-American who lives in Madison. She tells A Public Affair host Esty Dinur that social media has lead to more people “becoming aware of the fact that there is a genocide happening, and that it is happening at the hands of America directly.”
Esty speaks with Sabreen and two other Palestine women living in the Madison area, Jamal and Deena, about their stories of growing up, leaving Palestine, and witnessing the ongoing violence from outside of their homeland. They offer their perspectives on the current state of the Israel-Hamas war and shine a light on their experiences as Palestinians living in our community.
