*TW - some of the topics we discuss on this episode may be triggering*
Welcome back to another episode of ACOC.
In this episode we dive into the real conversations about friendships, scandals and trust. We discussed about how to navigate the difficult challenges one can encounter as a friend in relationships where trust is broken due to unacceptable moral failures. How does one be a good friend when the choices of your friend hurt you and or other people around you?
Carl Lentz, a prominent (now former) preacher at a globally renowned Christian organization had a huge public falling out due to the personal challenges and moral failure in his life. In 2024, about four years later, on his podcast, he talks about how he and his family navigated this difficult time in their life in the public eye but also in their private life. There’s so much to learn and unpack from their conversations for anyone going through a similar situation
Our conversation spanned across multiple topics such as
⁃ How to know when to walk about from a friendship and when to stay after when there’s been irreconcilable hurt
⁃ How to heal from the consequences of someone else’s actions
⁃ What it means to be a ride or die friend
⁃ The tension of conflicts in friendship through difficult seasons
This is a heavy and deep conversation. Thank you for taking the time to listen and please seek professional help if needed in your own situation.
