This profound movie gathering, led by Jenny Maria and Barret De La Luz, beautifully captures the deep metaphysical themes of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind in the context of A Course in Miracles. Together with the group at the Awaken to Love Retreat Center in Spain, they explore the idea of memory deletion as symbolic of the Spirit’s role in erasing the past and awakening to present love and joining.

Like all movies we watch at the Center, we use them as a mirror for deep healing and awakening. Like the teachings of A Course in Miracles, this movie invites us to see beyond our identification with personal stories, memories and private thoughts, revealing the gentle plan of Atonement that lies beyond form, untouched by time. We explore how the Holy Spirit gently erases the past when we offer it willingly, dissolving the false belief that love is found in memories of the past rather than in the eternal now. 

Watching this film with a prayerful heart, the Holy Spirit guides us beyond perception into a deeper awareness of Reality. It is an experience of deep healing, a sacred space where we invite Truth to shine through the veils of the past, leaving only the brilliance of the Present moment.

Jenny Maria shares some inspired sections from A Course in Miracles, specifically from the section "The Present Memory" (Text, Chapter 28, Section I). She explores a passage discussing judgment as a toy of the ego, which is from "Shadows of the Past" (Text, Chapter 17, Section III). It is seen how the Holy Spirit transforms special relationships into holy relationships, aligning with "The Two Uses of Time" (Text, Chapter 15, Section I).

1.⁠ ⁠"The Present Memory" (A Course in Miracles, Text, Chapter 28, Section I) – This section teaches that memory can be used by the Holy Spirit to release the past rather than to hold onto it. True healing occurs when past associations are willingly surrendered, allowing only the Present Love to remain.

2.⁠ ⁠"The Two Uses of Time" (A Course in Miracles, Text, Chapter 15, Section I) – The ego uses time to reinforce the past, whereas the Holy Spirit uses it to free us from false memories and lead us to the Present moment.

3.⁠ ⁠"Shadows of the Past" (A Course in Miracles, Text, Chapter 17, Section III) – Past grievances shape present perception. The ego clings to the past and distorts current relationships, while the Holy Spirit offers a way to see truly.

Through A Course in Miracles lesson 44, Jenny Maria guides us to recognize that we cannot make light ourselves, but that our true identity is divine light. The ego, in its fear, tries to convince us that letting go of our thoughts will be a complete loss of identity and descent into hell—when in truth, it is the release from hell.

I love how the teaching emphasizes that our resistance to this process is natural, yet it is only fear of losing a false self. The real Self, which is pure light, remains untouched and ever-present. The practice of quieting the mind and allowing ourselves to sink past interfering thoughts is described as a "natural course" by Jesus —a return to what has always been true.

Jenny Maria and Barret also dive into The Only Answer, T-6.IV. While the ego constantly questions and keeps us in uncertainty, the Holy Spirit simply answers—always and for all time. We don’t have to strive or seek endlessly; the Answer is already here. It is in the stillness, in the surrender, in the Beingness of Spirit that we Are.

This teaching is an invitation to rest in certainty, to move past the ego’s questions and rest in the Answer.

When we feel unsettled, uncertain, or lost in a myriad of problems, we are invited to return to this simple practice: “I feel the Love of God within me now.” Through this awareness, we release our identification with ego thinking, surrender our worries, and experience true peace beyond the frantic thoughts of the world. This is not mere theory—it is a direct path to freedom, a call to cast our cares upon the Lord, and a reminder, as ACIM Lesson 50 states: we are sustained only by the Love of God.
We explore ACIM Lesson 54, a review of five essential teachings that help us recognise the immense power of our thoughts and how the perception of the world is an immediate result of them.

These ideas remind us that there are no neutral thoughts—each thought either reinforces illusions or leads us toward Truth. When we perceive problems, we are seeing the effects of faulty perception. By allowing the Holy Spirit to correct our perception, we can experience a world that reflects peace instead of fear. 

This is choosing the miracle and the realization that God’s Love is our only Source, our unshakable foundation, and our perfect peace. We can commit to releasing all false idols, letting go of control, and surrendering fully to the Love that carries us beyond every seeming difficulty. Let’s embrace this truth together and feel the Love of God within us now!
