A Daily Walk on Oneplace.com

We have an encouraging study lined up for you today on a Daily Walk, centered around Nehemiah chapter nine. Those of you who have had a prodigal child, and witnessed them turn back to the Lord, I’m sure would be quick to say what a joyous experience that is. Now think of how God feels, when one of His wayward children return to Him! He’s thrilled about it. That’s really what we have in this section of Nehemiah. Maybe God is trying to get your attention, wanting to draw you back to Him? You can experience the same personal revival these people did so long ago.

Pastor John Randall is in the middle of a new study in Nehemiah. If you’re familiar with our ministry you know that we’re all about the teaching of the Bible. We read it, explain it and help people apply it. And that’s actually modeled for us in chapter eight of Nehemiah. We’ll see how the Word has the power to change our lives when we respond rightly to it.

Imagine being on the receiving end of a letter from the Lord that was full of commendations and encouragement to keep doing what you’re doing! Wouldn’t that feel great? We’ll be looking at the Lord’s letter to the church in Philadelphia, found in Revelation chapter three, verses seven through thirteen. They received such a letter, and we’ll look at that today on the broadcast, so we too can please the Lord with our lives.

Today on a Daily Walk pastor John Randall opens Nehemiah chapter seven. There’s nothing that can take the place of the bible. There’s just no substitute for it. God esteems His Word above His very name, and that should be our cue to do the same. This passage we’re about to look at recalls an exciting and exceptional time in the history of God’s people. They had just completed the rebuilding of the wall in Jerusalem, you might recall. And now they’re seeking to rebuild their lives.

You can be sure of this, in any work of God, the enemy will take notice and oppose it. His attack may take the form of slander, distraction or even encouraging us to compromise. So how do we respond next time that happens to us? Pastor John Randall unveils that and more in today’s study of Nehemiah chapter six.

If you’ve been a Christian for any length of time at all, you know that satan is out there on the prowl, seeking to mess your life up. Maybe you’ve noticed, no sooner than you start a ministry at church or on the mission field, and you’re hit with one challenge or attack after another. And sometimes it’s from within the church! What are we to make of this? We see something very similar to what I just described in Nehemiah chapter five. That’s where we’re headed today on a Daily Walk as pastor John Randall spotlights some challenges in leadership.

We’re back in Nehemiah as we start off another week together. Pastor John Randall will visit chapter five. Discouragement, division and distrust. That pretty much describes where we’re at as a people right now, wouldn’t you agree? And not unlike this time period in Nehemiah. You’re about to hear some of the challenges they faced, that sounds a lot like our own.

When we begin a relationship with Christ, typically we’re on a great spiritual high, our love of the Lord is where it should be, and we’re depending on the Spirit of God to help us grow. Then over time, there can be the tendency of growing cold, and even dying spiritually. Discover what to do when you’re in that condition today on a Daily Walk.
