A Daily Walk on Oneplace.com

The law of God was never given to make us righteous but to reveal we all fall short of the glory of God and need a Savior. But many totally miss the point and go on an endeavor to live by the law. Others come up with their own set of standards, rules and rituals to live by. Both of those paths lead to bondage. Pastor John Randall will urge us to stay connected to Jesus and take our cues and direction from the Lord. That’s the way to live and avoid falling into legalism and a lie.

“How do I get to God?” As you may know, people have arrived at a variety of answers to that question. Back when Paul penned his letter to the Colossians there were false teachers that claimed salvation came through abiding by manmade regulations. Simply put it was legalism. Still today, people fall for that lie. We’ll learn today on a Daily Walk that there is one way to God and that’s through Christ. Our best efforts fall way short of the mark and that’s why we need to trust in Jesus who lived the perfect life for us and died in our place.

This week we pick up where we left off in Matthew chapter 23 where Jesus is rebuking the religious leaders of the day. As you hear these woes allow it to encourage you to be a speaker of truth in love. Jesus models this for us beautifully.

The world as we know it today is full of turmoil and suffering. It would be easy for us to complain, argue and even question why! And many are. But today on a Daily Walk, we’d like to encourage you to make the choice to rejoice… just as the apostle Paul did in the midst of suffering. Pastor John Randall provides some reasons for doing so, as he returns to his study of Colossians.

Pastor John Randall is just getting started in Colossians. We left off at chapter one, and verses 18-23. In these difficult times we’re living in, we desperately need encouragement to keep on going. And that’s what we find in this passage. As we consider what Paul and the Colossians went through, we’ll apply it to what we’re encountering today… and left encouraged to keep walking with Jesus.

Is Jesus God? While man today disagrees over the answer to that question the Bible is very clear on the matter. A careful reading of the Scripture will leave no doubt in your mind that Jesus is Lord and God. Today on a Daily Walk we’ll see false teaching was making its way around the church in Colossi. And the apostle Paul is about to set the record straight.
