We’re about to open the twenty-eighth and final chapter of Acts. What an incredible journey it’s been, to see the birth of the Christian church, the descending of the Holy Spirit, the conversion of Saul, and all of the other things that have happened in this book. Paul finds himself now shipwrecked and on the island of Malta. But God had promised him that he would make it to Rome, the voyage would resume, and not even a serpent could prevent that from happening!

Today on a Daily Walk we join pastor John Randall in Acts 27. Paul is at sea and on his way to Rome with a couple hundred guys. They encounter an enormous storm that lasted for fourteen days and end up on the island of Malta. Pastor John is going to relate this to the storms we face in life! We’ll see how we get into them and out of them too!

You can be sure, even the most godly Christians will go through trials and storms! It’s not always linked to wrongdoing or because God is somehow displeased with us. It’s not hard to see people struggle with fear in the world as we know it. Maybe it’s a fear of death that has a grip on you, or a fear of what people think of us or even what may happen if we choose to go down a certain path. We left off in Acts chapter twenty-six with Paul’s defense before King Agrippa and Festus the Roman governor. In presenting his defense Paul recounts his conversion experience and calling by God, to make him a minister and witness of Jesus. We’re told all of this almost persuaded Agrippa to become a Christian. But as we’ll see we are either for Christ or against Him. The almost Christian or the so-called undecided is still against Jesus. Think about where you’re at today and allow the Lord to speak to you through His Word.

Today on a Daily Walk we turn back to Acts where King Agrippa is almost persuaded to become a Christian. We’re about to continue with Paul’s defense before those who are unjustly holding him. We find Paul, instead of seeking to be released from imprisonment, uses these circumstances to proclaim the gospel and the power of God to his captors.

Today we head over to Acts twenty-three and continue to hear Paul’s defense before the Jewish and Roman authorities. Paul has been accused of sedition but his only offense is preaching the gospel, that salvation comes not by the keeping of the Old Testament laws and sacrifices but by faith in Jesus Christ.
