A Daily Walk on Oneplace.com

Today pastor John will continue his series through the book of Acts. As we delve into chapter thirteen today, we’re witness to Paul and Barnabas as they embark on their first missionary journey. In these verses we also get a great description of ministry to and for the Lord. Every Christian is a minister and missionary, and so let’s allow the Lord to speak to our own lives about our own missionary quest!

Oh we’ve never done it that way before! Has that thought ever raced through your mind at church? Perhaps as the worship team has added some new instruments! Or the pastor is now doing the announcements at the end of service instead of the beginning! Today on a Daily Walk we’ll learn the need to be flexible in our endeavor to reach out to people, with the realization that God may want to do something new and different in this generation. Pastor John Randall has an eye on Matthew chapter nine.

Pastor John Randall will be sharing a message based on the twelfth chapter of Acts. The Lord never promised us a trouble-free life. Rather He said we should expect persecution and suffering in our daily walk. At this point in the early church tragedy strikes. James was killed and Peter thrown in prison. It’s interesting to note that the church would respond by praying. Pastor John is about to encourage us to trust in and pray to the God of the Impossible just as they did.

Today we’ll focus our time and attention on chapters nine and ten of Acts. This is an historic section of scripture because for the first time, the Gentiles and not just the Jews, get to hear the good news of Jesus Christ! As a result many would come to faith in Jesus.

We’ll catchup with Peter today who is traveling from one place to another at this particular time in his life. In Lydda he encounters a paralyzed and bedridden man, and then in Joppa he’s informed that a dear lady named Tabitha has just died. What happens next for both of these people is truly amazing. Let’s see what the Lord did and how He still works in our lives today!
