Proverbs says, “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” Bryan Fischer here, with an excerpt from the Boy To Man Book, for fathers to read with their 12-year-old sons. “Sometimes when God closes a door, it slams on your foot and it can hurt. But God uses closed doors to tell us it’s time for a change. I could never have foreseen or predicted the path that my life has taken. One of my mentors told me, “Life must be lived forward, but can only be understood backward.” You often cannot see what God is doing when he is in the middle of doing it. That’s why we must trust God with every day of our lives. Solomon is exactly right when he says, “A man’s steps are from the Lord; how then can man understand his way?”
