Since his first speech on the Senate floor in February of 2011, Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV) has been committed to finding common ground -- so much so, that he is one of few lawmakers who left the Democratic Party to become an Independent.

Now, as he prepares to leave the Senate after over a decade of service, Senator Manchin reflects on the role he played in passing key legislation over the years and shares his thoughts on why, despite the shaky state of bipartisanship in Washington, he still has hope for America.
