Author and clothing designer, Shalamar Parrish is an Army Veteran who devotes her life to advocating for foster children and victims of sex trafficking. She grew up in a challenging environment in Ohio that led to her resiliency towards being a changemaker to transform lives. Due to her life experiences, Shalamar has devoted her outreach to assist others in child welfare and those affected by humans trafficking. 

She is an advocate for the U.S. Institute Against Human Trafficking for Men, Woman, and Children. She created her writing brand known as "Leading Lady", loosely based on her life. Her clothing brand is known as 2Dayz Woman and is an online apparel boutique. Shalamar uses the proceeds from her author and clothing brands to support her outreach efforts in the community at large.
