Sunday 25 October 2026 - Love vs talent  

Exodus 31:1-5 NKJV

Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: [2] "See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. [3] And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, [4] to design artistic works, to work in gold, in silver, in bronze, [5] in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of workmanship.

A lot of people use the words love, talent, skill, passion, and calling in the wrong context (without understanding). 

Love - to have a strong affection for someone or something.

Talent - having a natural ability to do with minimum or less effort. 

• Talent without hard work results in frustration, disappointment, and regret.
• Love minus effort results in deception, lies, and lack of honesty.

Sunday 18/10/2026 - Christ has got my back 

• Reminders in life are important because in this journey we face a lot and so it’s easy to forget. 

John 17:14-19 NKJV

I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. [15] I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. [16] They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. [17] Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. [18] As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. [19] And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.

• Christ with us is eternal (lasting forever / without an end).

Matthew 28:16-20 NKJV

Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. [17] When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. [18] And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. [19] Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

Communicate, lead, or propel an action

Matthew 11:13 NKJV

For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

• We all have an end point to whatever we have been assigned by God. 
• Will we be ready to handover what we have done when asked to do so?
• Life is about succession (a series of things or people that happen one after the other).

Here are some examples from scripture 

• Prophets and law - John 
• John - Jesus Christ
• Jesus Christ - disciples
• Disciples - believers

There are moments in life where you have to pause and allow your soul to speak words of appreciation to God the creator. 

Psalm 16:2 NKJV

O my soul, you have said to the LORD, "You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You."

Psalm 16:1-2 TPT

Keep me safe, O mighty God. I run to you, my safe place. [2] I said to YAHWEH, “You are my Maker and my Master. Any good thing you find in me has come from you.”

Second hand faith 

• Indirect or not from original experience 

• Most believers are facing internal battles between faith and doubt.
• Do I really believe?
• Can it really be God?
• Why not me directly? 
  

Mark 16:14 NKJV

Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.

• Lack of personal encounters is one reason that some have lost their faith.

John 20:29 NKJV

Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Be careful 

• a warning to pay attention to avoid danger (risks, accidents, or mistakes)

Mark 14:10-11 KJV

And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them. [11] And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.

• Relatives
• Friends 
• Colleagues 

1 Thessalonians 5:4-6,17 KJV

[4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. [5] Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. [6] Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. [17] Pray without ceasing.

• Yes we know and that is a reason to be more cautious 

Family matters part 3 - Speech

James 1:19 NLT

Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. 

• A persons unique way of talking (not accent, but substance in what is being spoken). 

Mark 14:70 NKJV

But he denied it again. And a little later those who stood by said to Peter again, "Surely you are one of them; for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it."

• Family members of God’s kingdom have a distinct (positive, sure, and authoritative) way of talking.
  

Mark 11:22-24 NKJV

So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God. [23] For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. [24] Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

• To your problems and challenges, you cannot afford to:
• suggest, plead, beg, negotiate, and ask. 

• Study Genesis 1 and pay attention to how God spoke.
• Study the life of Jesus Christ and see how He spoke. 

Philippians 4:13 NKJV

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Until the end 

Mark 13:13 NKJV

And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

• Every journey, mission, and purpose requires resilience. 
• Having it not easy helps build character, strength, and faith. 

Galatians 6:9-10 NKJV

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. [10] Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Early In the morning 

• A morning symbolizes a new beginning, possibilities, opportunities, second chance, hope 

Psalm 30:1-5 NKJV

I will extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up, And have not let my foes rejoice over me. [2] O LORD my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me. [3] O LORD, You brought my soul up from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. [4] Sing praise to the LORD, you saints of His, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name. [5] For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.

Genesis 22:3 CEV

So Abraham got up early the next morning and chopped wood for the fire. He put a saddle on his donkey and left with Isaac and two servants for the place where God had told him to go.

• Every new beginning and opportunity in life requires swiftness to react. 

Deuteronomy 30:19 AMP

I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse; therefore, you shall choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,

• This was no coincidence, but instead pre-meditated by God the Father. 
• To use the worst to bring out salvation for His creation, while demonstrating His love and value for men. 

Matthew 27:15-26 NKJV

Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to releasing to the multitude one prisoner whom they wished. [16] And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas. [17] Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, "Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?" [18] For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy. [19] While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him." [20] But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus. [21] The governor answered and said to them, "Which of the two do you want me to release to you?" They said, "Barabbas!" [22] Pilate said to them, "What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?" They all said to him, "Let Him be crucified!" [23] Then the governor said, "Why, what evil has He done?" But they cried out all the more, saying, "Let Him be crucified!" [24] When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it." [25] And all the people answered and said, "His blood be on us and on our children." [26] Then he released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.

• Barabbas was a Jewish rebel, murderer, and bandit (thief, robber, gang member).
• Notorious - famous or well-known for something bad, negative, or harmful. It describes people, places, or things that have a bad reputation. 

• Christ took the place of a notorious prisoner, to redeem mankind. 

• What happened to Barabbas explains why salvation is not found through works, but instead through the grace of God. 

Your value is not affected by;

• Past, baggage, behavior/actions, imperfections, struggles/weaknesses, failures, disappointments, negativities, etc…

Jeremiah 29:10-11 NKJV

For thus says the LORD: After seventy years are completed at Babylon, I will visit you and perform My good word toward you, and cause you to return to this place. [11] For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

• The scripture shows us that in God’s view there is no evil, malice, harm, or intention to harm His children.
