A lot of credit is given to the roots, type of soil, and location of the tree in relation to water.   

The taste of the fruits to most justify the qualify of the tree. You then factor in the climate conditions and there you have it, perfect harvest.  Have you noticed that there is no mention of the trunk in the analogy above?
