One environmental disaster, in particular, is landslides caused by Slope Instability in the Parishes of St. Thomas and St Andrews Jamaica. We will be speaking with Environmental Hazard Special and Professor Dr. Servel Miller in this two-part mini-series documenting the adverse effects of landslides. Today's episode is a very nuanced one with special guest, documentarian and producer Maggie Reid. in this episode, we will be reviewing her work with the CBC on the documentary Generation Botox in which Reid takes a look at some hard truths that come with a society that normalizes plastic surgery. In part two of this episode, we will talk about whether feminism has a place in the uptick of plastic surgery if social media is to blame and body positivity vs. body neutrality. The idea behind this title was the all too real truth that many people are trying to make the best of their current situations and assume other people have the same agency to do so, thus, creating a false reality that everything is ok when it’s not. Join us as we talk about her behind the scenes journey through the making of an indie film. Including her interviewing anecdotes, the demographic of her interviewees, anti-propaganda in documentaries, measuring the success of this feature film, as well as the desired final product.
