Welcome to my newest experiment! This episode was first recorded in Afrikaans (find it here, if you want this in the OG language) and then interpreted into English. It has some corresponding wobbles, but all in all this was pretty fun to make. If you liked it – and also if you didn’t – please let me know, so I can adjust my experiment accordingly.

This episode is for language nerds. I speak about multilingualism, and love, and at times I get on a soapbox (that happens to me sometimes, but I always find my way back down), and I read you some poetry and stuff. I hope you like it.

Gistermiddag besluit ek: Ek gaan ‘n Afrikaanse podcast maak, en ek gaan dit op Valentynsdag vrystel want dan kan ek vir dit ‘n cute titel gee.

Vanoggend besluit ek om die hele ding te tolk ook, en ‘n Engelse een bykomend vry te stel – the jury’s still out of daai een vandag die lig gaan sien. My rug pyn en ek het nou al so baie na my eie stem geluister dat ek amper 100% seker is daarvan dat alles wat ek sê onsinnig is. Soos my Kalvinistiese voorvaders bly ek lief vir ‘n goeie stukkie suffering.

Hierdie episode is vir taal-nerds. Ek gesels ek oor meertaligheid, oor die liefde, en raak per ongeluk ‘n bietjie prekerig (dit gebeur maar met my), en lees gedigte en goeters. Ek hoop jy hou daarvan.
