A Green Valley Treasure - Native Gardens (Aired 02/26/2026)

Listen Later

Native Gardens is more than a nursery — it’s a family-owned destination filled with plants, pottery, folk art, and one-of-a-kind treasures from across North America and Mexico.

Andy Taylor sits down with Harry and Ellen March, along with daughter Stephanie Peterson, to talk about what makes Native Gardens so unique. From seasonal vegetables and herbs (including peppers and tomatoes arriving early this year!) to salvia, rosemary, cactus, and hummingbird-friendly plants — the nursery side is thriving.

But that’s just the beginning. After a recent buying trip to Guadalajara and the renowned ENART show, the family returns with artwork from 20 new artists — including Tonalá pottery, Oaxaca red clay pieces, handwoven tortilla warmers, horsehair belts, amber jewelry from Poland, and the wildly popular three-legged lucky pigs.

Located at 20 N. La Cañada in Green Valley, Native Gardens is open seven days a week and continues to be a local favorite for gifts, home décor, and Southwest artistry you won’t find anywhere else.
