Randy shares news of a strong month for the Chamber, with membership now reaching approximately 430 businesses and organizations. He talks about the benefits Chamber members receive, including ribbon cuttings, online directory listings, promotion through social media and Chamber publications, networking opportunities, and connections with other local businesses.

For those who have dreamed about starting their own business, Randy explains how the Chamber can help connect entrepreneurs with resources for everything from forming an LLC and obtaining an EIN to finding financing and developing a business plan.

The conversation also highlights the second year of the Elevate SGV Leadership Program, with 17 participants learning about leadership, regional history, education, industry, nonprofits, healthcare and public safety.

David previews a busy fall schedule, including the End of Life Planning and Care Forum on October 8, presented in partnership with the Pima Council on Aging. The forum will help residents understand important healthcare directives, powers of attorney and other documents that can help ensure their wishes are respected.

Also returning is GV101, designed to introduce newer residents — and provide longtime residents with a refresher — to the organizations, services and community partners that make Green Valley unique.

David also discusses an upcoming Arizona Registrar of Contractors forum on November 5, providing valuable information about hiring contractors, protecting yourself from scams, and understanding your options when work is incomplete or doesn't meet expectations.

Technology is also on the agenda with a Fiber Optic Internet Forum on November 12, as expanded fiber connectivity begins moving into Green Valley. The discussion will look at what fiber could mean for residents, businesses and healthcare providers.
