Publisher's Summary:
In Dhaka, Bangladesh, a garment factory burns to the ground, claiming the lives of hundreds of workers. A bystander captures a heart-stopping image: a teenage girl lying in the dirt, her body broken by a multistorey fall, and over her mouth a mask of fabric bearing the label of one of America's largest retailers. A year later, in Washington, DC, Joshua Griswold, a disgraced former journalist, receives an anonymous summons from a corporate whistle-blower promising information that will fan the flames of a decades-old controversy.
A gripping new thriller that unpacks the horrors of exploitation in the garment industry.
Critic Reviews:
"A must-read book that uncovers what lies behind what we wear every single day. You will never be able to look at your clothes the same way again." (Livia Firth, OXFAM global ambassador)
"Poignant and engrossing...Corban Addison will hold you spellbound with his elegant prose from his first word to his last." (Wilbur Smith)

True Corban Addison
Addison's novels are clearly well researched and well written. He has a clear sense of right and wrong that shines through his written work. Corban Addison is a master storeyteller.
Insightful
Great look at the off shore apparel industry and it's dark side!
It's hard to believe that slave labor still exists, but Addison makes it
so realistic that I had to check my Country of Origin label in my
Jeans and now I feel uncomfortable wearing them since they
we're "Made in Jordan"!
GOOD READS
EYE OPENING--I like this author--His topics are always of interest like this one and beautifully descriptive. I like the way he writes and the subjects he writes about. Especially because he actually does hands-on research for his subject.
s book was again written in lovely English with a number of words that challenged me to have to look up in the easily available dictionary when reading on my Kindle
Corben Addison,s book was again written in lovely English with a number of words that challenged me to have to look up in the easily available dictionary when reading on my Kindle. Every character was so well described and sadly every situation so real in the world we live in.I always enjoy court case drama and this was a powerful read.
A superbly written book
A very necessary message packaged in a beautifully written book. A great storyline, suspense, emotion, pace, relationships. I was thoroughly captured by the stories of Cameron, Josh and all the victims of abusive work conditions. Thank you for highlighting this plight.
