In his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus quotes the 5th Commandment, “You shall not murder,” and then continues, ‘If you are angry…you are liable to judgment’ (Matt 5:21-26) Is Jesus commanding us not to be angry? giving us a law we can’t possibly keep? expressing an impractical ideal? Or is Jesus teaching us something unexpected about life in relationship with God and each other?
