Good listen on a long road trip
I love ALL British Crime, Detective, and Mystery shows available to the US via Public Television. The heroin in this story is less confident and sure of herself, which was the biggest disappointment in my opinion. I like a kick-ass confident S/hero type, that isnt constantly second guessing herself. This one is a victim of circumstance in so many ways, inferior to men by size, lower in rank to men, made victim by the town gossip, the town drunk, the town bully, & the random rogue live news reporter, and of course, the bad guy.
Enjoyable
I enjoyed the story and the plot-line held my interest although it felt a bit rushed in places - particularly towards the end. The premise - a dead body found in a small town cut off by floods with only an inexperienced policewoman to solve the crime - was good, and I particularly like the lead character Sarah, who felt believable and real.
Entertaining!
I listened to this on a long journey and thoroughly enjoyed it. A good thriller which kept me guessing.

Great story and well narrated
I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. The story was exciting and I was gripped right to the end. The narration was well paced and the characters well acted. I look forward to hearing the second in the series!
