A Lesson on "The Belief That Makes Slowing Down Challenging"

Listen Later

After years and years of living a 'slower' life, I still find myself from time to time dipping back into the mindless tasking that a lot of the world lives by, even though I know deep down that way of living isn't for me. Whenever I am in flow, and truly taking care of myself, I find living a life of intention and slowness is easy, fun, and extremely rewarding. I have all I need in this moment, and I enjoy the present moment for all of it's richness and fulfillment. Whenever I dip back into the feverish doing, it seems as though I can never accomplish enough, and that so much is missing from my life, I get resentful and frustrated easily, and life just seems so hard. I go back to the thought that if only 'X' was different, then I would be happy, keeping me on an endless loop chase to nowhere. Now deeply knowing that slowness is truly the way for me, I wonder why then do I fall back into this pattern? After getting quiet and doing some self inquiry, I received insight as to why I found myself still tipping back into this unhelpful way from time to time, and I wanted to share it on the podcast, just in case this resonates with you too. After becoming aware of this limiting belief that was hiding behind the behavior of busy-ness, I was able to catch it, reframe it, and began using supportive affirmations to shift my way out. My hope is that after listening, if this does resonate with you, and you're looking to create more ease in your life, that this rings off the alarm of how you too can begin to shift away from this unhelpful way of living. Enjoy!
