A level biology with Dr Bhavsar

Our amazing year 2 students from 2020-21 talk about their experiences being A level students at Leyton Sixth Form College.

Topics that come up are:

• advice to new students

Hope you find it interesting and helpful!

Next we discuss mutations. There's a lot to unpack here, so we begin a simple example, and explain how mutation can change protein function.

Year 2 discussion begins with understanding what gene expression means. Lot's of genes and inheritance stuff coming up, so this is a great place to start.

Back after the half-term holiday, with a discussion on gas exchange specifically in the lungs. I'd love to get your feedback if you're listening as I want these episodes to be genuinely useful in your A level bio journey. Leave a review, leave your feedback so I can improve things, too. Many thanks!

you're still here? umm ok....then let's talk how insects carry out gas exchange bearing in mind the three key features of any gas gas exchange system. sweet.

Yes. it's episode 4 and we're still talking gas exchange. Strap in people! We're going slooowwww. In this episode we look at how the fish gas exchange system is adapted to maximise the rate of diffusion. oh yeah!

in the last episode I talked about the need for exchange surfaces. In this episode, we move on to describing the common features of all gas exchange surfaces.

in this first episode a real human person talks about why gas exchange systems are needed by many organisms.
