  • 5 Tips For Backpacking Around The World Ft Lauren

    Lauren backpacked around the world for over six months. Here are her 5 tips based on her experience travelling:-

    1. Make friends, as a solo female it’s good to have friends so you can go to dinner with people so don’t have to walk in dark etc, and when you have more people excursions are sometimes cheaper
    2. Have five important things to check every time you leave your accommodation to move on to somewhere else. If you never leave without those important things you’re less likely to lose them.
    3. Buy a SIM card every time you get to a new country, you can get them at the airport it means you can always have maps and you can always contact people when you don’t have Wi-Fi.
    4. Download the grab app in south East Asia which is valid in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. It allows you to get cheap taxis or mopeds around. Also saves you walking around in the dark.
    5. Go with an open mind don’t plan everything too much, allow room for delayed transport & have flexibility in your plans.
