A Match of Sorts by Lucette Nel has all the elements I love in a Christmas read. Itâs quick, itâs swoony, itâs sweet and itâs cozy. It has great characters that you care about immediately, and a sweet message of restoration.

Let me get this out of the way right now â Keep your fans handy for whenever Caleb is in a scene. Whew. His love for his daughters, his love for God, and his caring heart make him completely swoonworthy. Grace is a bit prickly at first but you canât help but love her too. Sheâs a strong character but her heart is vulnerable and as her story unfolds we understand why. Her journey to âhomeâ is touching and romantic. There are also moments of humor and adorableness â and moments where you want to holler through the pages at the characters but they arenât listening to you...

Tucked in the heart of A Match of Sorts is a tender message of trusting God and letting Him restore the wounds that life has left behind. Both Caleb and Grace have scars on their hearts, but Calebâs relationship with God sustains him. Something that Grace doesnât completely understand â but longs to.

Bottom Line: A Match of Sorts is the perfect pick for a wintry weekend read. Itâs a quick read but itâs not sacrificing on quality in any way. A sweet story guaranteed to make you smile and well-drawn characters youâll want to spend more time with!
